The Director will report to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University, playing a key role on the Senior Management Team and providing inspirational leadership with staff in the Marketing and Communications Department, encompassing sections with responsibility for Brand Communications, Business Marketing, International Marketing, Fundraising and Corporate Affairs. Through creating strong internal and external working relationships, the Director will also be accountable for the delivery of an effective operational service that meets the day-to-day needs of the University.

Candidates will need to appreciate the eclectic range of stakeholders and audience within the University context, and will be genuinely excited about cementing the reputation of the University of Hertfordshire as one of the leading institutions in the UK. Preferred Qualifications:

- Vendor management experience.
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Project finance skills.
- Risk Analysis and risk management experience .

- Knowledge of and proven experience with industry best practices for analysis, design, build and test of complex systems.

Manage the transition between seasons with the appropriate mix of merchandise to achieve zero out targets and begin shipping the initial merchandise assortments the new season.
Responsible for building bottom up store plans.


Qualifications:
5-10 year as retail experience in merchandising, planning or distribution. Minimum of 3 years of prior supervision required.
College graduate and/or industry trained professional.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and supervisory abilities, technical knowledge in PC based systems and application software, including Arthur, MMS, and Island Pacific.
